I found a cheeseburger soup recipe online, and it is amazing! Maybe I'll even share it at the end of my post, if I'm not to lazy from being in a cheeseburger soup coma.
I've reached the part in my book where it's probably a good idea for me to actually buy some yarn and knitting needles so I can practice what the diagrams are in the book. I thought I was going to get to the craft store tonight, but I don't think that's going to happen. I think I'll go tomorrow before my ballroom dancing class, which I cannot skip...again.
So I was worrying a little too much about the whole being busy for Election Day. We were definitely busy, but it wasn't uncontrollable, and I really should have taken a deep breath at first. But I didn't, and the day sucked pretty much. Oh well, tomorrow's a new day.
I don't have much more to say besides that I'm going to try to get some pictures up of my new knitting stuff once I get it. Soon!
Gonna make it short tonight, just want to relax for a little bit.
Here's the recipe for the soup if anyone cares to try it out:
-1/2 lb. Ground Beef
-3/4 cup Chopped Onion
-3/4 cup Shredded Carrots
-3/4 cup Chopped Celery
-1 teaspoon Dried Basil
-1 teaspoon Dried Parsley
-4 Tablespoons Butter
-3 cups Chicken Broth
-4 cups Cubed Potatoes
-1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
-2 cups Cubed Cheddar Cheese
-1 1/2 cups Milk
-1/4 cup Sour Cream
1. In a large pot, melt 1 tablespoon butter or margarine over medium heat: cook and stir vegetables and beef, until brown.
2. Stir in basil and parsley. Add broth and potatoes. Bring to a boil, then simmer until potatoes are tender, about 10-12 minutes.
3. In a saucepot, melt the remainder of butter and stir in flour. Add the milk, stirring until smooth.
4. Gradually add milk mixture to the soup, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to simmer. Stir in cheese. When the cheese is melted, add a sour cream and heat through, but do not boil.
Enjoy!

Sake It To Me!
Yeah, I know, it's a pretty corny title, but I'm drinkin' Sake, so whatever! Just got home from my little sister's Cabaret Cafe performance, and those kids are really talented. I feel like I could sing as good as them...if I were alone in my car...with the windows rolled up. Well, I'd at least think that I was as good as them, but probably wouldn't be. Oh well...
Kinda getting a late start on reading tonight, but it's okay. I'm sure that whoever is out there reading this could really care less about me learning about knitting, but it's something to write about. I guess I won't stay on that subject for too much longer...or at all.
I'm having a hard time thinking about what to write. Maybe because I'm getting distracted by Spongebob. Instead of wasting all of your time attempting to read this, I'm just going to go read my book. Maybe I'll make another post later if I feel ambitious.
Happy Daylight Savings! Enjoy your extra hour of sleep tonight!

Hip Problems Are Definitely Not Just For The Elderly...
Yep...22 years old and I think I'm having a hip problem. I guess we'll find out on Monday if I'll have a titanium (or something) hip before I hit 25. It's probably nothing, but it's worth getting checked out while I've still got insurance.
Moving onto the knitting thing that I've been working on...just about to open the book again and read some more. I'm currently learning how to read patterns and what the different letters mean. It really doesn't seem as hard as I thought it was, but I won't truly know until I try it out for sure. I looked at some supplies at the store today, and it isn't very expensive for most of it. I think the most expensive items are the needles. I'm still excited about it, but hopefully I don't get discouraged too soon.
I'm not sure how much reading/knitting I'll get to do this week, it's going to be very busy at the bakery. Election Day, for some reason, is one of the busiest days of the year for us and I'm definitely not looking forward to it. It can only last as long as the store is open, so even if it's eight hours of hell, I think we'll survive.
I should probably go get some sleep, since I already took nap after work today and woke up even more exhausted than when I actually went to sleep. Oh well, I guess I just need some real sleep.
Good night!

Happy Birthday Mommy!
Yes, that's right. Today is my mom's birthday, and yes, I call her mommy. I'm not embarrassed. Since today is her birthday, we went out to dinner and I didn't get a chance to do a lot of reading about knitting. Also, I'm slightly inebriated and probably should make this a short post.
So, Happy Birthday to my mom and whoever else is also celebrating a birthday today. Congratulations and enjoy another year of life by celebrating foolishly!
Good night world!

My Knitting Endeavor!
So basically, I saw a book on my Nook and decided that I wanted to learn how to knit to make these really sweet little animal and objects. I don't have much patience, so I'm not sure how exactly this is going to work out. Apparently, according to the first paragraph of Knitting for Dummies, "Knitting stirs creativity, gives you and ongoing sense of purpose, teaches patience, and soothes the soul." Coincidentally, I could use more of all four of those things...so maybe this is going to be a good thing. I've just got to get through this book. I'm sure I'll update my progress with all the knitting through rants, pictures, and more quotes that may or may not show some creepy resemblance to my life.
I suppose I should say a little about myself just in case some crazy person decides that they're bored enough to read about my blog. I'm a Culinary graduate, 22 years old, who does the same thing (almost) everyday. Go to work, go to the gym (sometimes), go home. I do some things in between or instead of some other things, but for the most part I keep it simple because if I plan too much, I start to forget about things and then I get crazy. I haven't fallen off the deep end yet, but I'm sure it'll happen within the next few years. Anyway, I hope to eventually own my own business, house, and life...as soon as the economy isn't crap. Otherwise, I work at a small bakery right now and live with my boyfriend, Andrew, and my BFFL, Ashlyn. I live a pretty normal life, at least I like to think so, compared to most. I'd like to travel someday, but that won't be happening for a while. Sooner than later would be nice, but I'm okay with where I'm at right now. In my free time, I watch television, read books, hang out with my sister and mom. I also like to experiment with different recipes. For instance, I've been buying those Betty Crocker impulse recipe books that you'd find in the line at the grocery store and have been trying to build a recipe book of my own. It's been fun, and I'll probably post about them once in a while too.
I hope to make a habit of this, and maybe even get a couple people (who I'm not related to/know directly) to read my blog! I'll take any suggestions on the title of my blog, since it definitely sucks.
